In upper school, students continue their cognitive, social and moral development with a deeper focus on the expectations of being a kind peer and good learner in high school. Middle school advisory classes focus on strong executive functioning training; study skills such as concentration, intentional remembering, understanding key concepts and gaining mastery through reflection; and social-emotional intelligence like emotional literacy, having an assertive -not aggressive- tone and conflict resolution. Luria middle schoolers set an action plan in 5th grade to help them reach the full potential of their academic mindset, work habits and self-advocacy. During Work Time, these goal are supported through intentional lessons and independent work.
