Mamie Kanfer Stewart is the host of The Modern Manager podcast, author of Momentum: Creating Effective, Engaging and Enjoyable Meetings and Founder of Meeteor, a coaching and training firm focused on building healthy, high performing teams with a special emphasis on productive meetings. In addition, Mamie is an executive coach who works with entrepreneurs and managers to build the habits they need to successfully manage themselves and their teams.
Mamie is a current board member of Brooklyn Community Foundation and immediate past chair of Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice. She serves on the board of Lippman Kanfer Family Foundation and is chair of Lippman Kanfer Foundation for Living Torah.
Mamie serves on the Executive Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee, and is co-chair of the Capital Campaign Committee.

Ora has worked as a consultant to early and mid-stage non-profits helping them lift the standard of excellence surrounding their organizational practices. She has guided organizations through a variety of internal planning processes, including program development, fundraising strategy, evaluation design, staff management, and board development. She is dedicated to helping her clients
build confidence in their mission and become more pragmatic in how they operate their organizations as well as how they impact the community around them. Ora has also held volunteer leadership roles in a number of organizations whose primary focus is creating inclusive school environments for children of all backgrounds, abilities and disabilities. Ora is the co-chair of the Capital Campaign Committee.

Treasurer Michael Ross is a partner in the Litigation Department at the law firm Jenner & Block LLP, where his legal practice focuses on commercial litigation and regulatory and enforcement matters; he represents corporate clients from an array of industries including financial services, media, technology, and energy. Michael also serves as co-chair of the Pro Bono Committee at Jenner & Block, which is regularly recognized as having the leading pro bono program in the country. He previously served on the board and governance committee
of the literacy focused non-profit, Literacy, Inc. Michael lives in Prospect Heights with his wife and their three children.

Rebecca currently serves as a senior staff member within the Finance Division of the New York City Council, where she is responsible for managing the legislative process for the adoption of the City’s annual budget, which currently exceeds $100 billion. She has a JD from the Fordham University School of Law and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and is currently pursuing an MPA at the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs. Rebecca and her husband Michael live in Crown Heights and are the proud parents of two Luria Academy students, Ella and Avery. She attended medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, trained in Internal Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital, and completed a Nephrology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital before crossing the river to Brooklyn. Dr. Hammer and her husband David live in Prospect Heights and are proud parents of Luria students Henry and Charlie.

Naomi Portnoy
Board Member Naomi Portnoy is an experienced educator who is dedicated to the growth and development of students with diverse learning styles and backgrounds. Naomi began her career as a New York City Teaching Fellow over a decade ago. Since then she has taught in a range of settings. She spent many years at an inner-city high school, teaching English and History to students with special needs and students at risk of academic failure in inclusive classrooms. After marrying her husband Ori and spending a year traveling around the world, Naomi taught for several years as a Learning Specialist at SAR High School, where she worked directly with individual students to help them become confident, skilled, and successful learners. Naomi is also an independent provider of Special Education Teacher Support Services through the NYC Department of Education. She has a master’s in Adolescent Education from Pace University, and a bachelor’s in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania. Naomi and Ori live in Prospect Heights and are proud parents to three Luria students. Naomi serves on the Development Committee.

After a career spent in both finance and technology, David is now focused on creating delicious digital experiences for Insomnia's customers. David and his wife, Evelyn, were looking for a school that incorporated a rigorous dual curriculum with a progressive educational approach. Drawn to Luria’s dedication to the unique education of each child, they enrolled their daughters Barbara in 2012, Rhonda in 2016, and Ruby in 2020. David serves on the Executive and Strategic Planning Committees and chairs the Finance Committee.

Prior to that, she served as the Director of Corporate Engagement at Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City, supporting youth mentoring programs for NYC high school students. Elizabeth holds a BA in history from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and an MSW from the Columbia University School of Social Work. Elizabeth and her husband, Josh, live in Park Slope, and are the proud parents of two Luria students, Hannah (5-7) and Matthew (Nitzanim).

Kseniya Schemo
Board Member Kseniya Schemo is the program director of the Goddard Riverside Community Center Law Project, a civil legal services organization. She has experience as a housing attorney representing tenants in housing court and acting as lead counsel in several trials. In her current role, she manages the grants and funding for the program and oversees case strategy and advocacy, and strategizing on outreach and grassroots education. Kseniya, and her husband Jesse, live in Park Slope and are proud parents of two Luria Students, Emma and Leah. She serves on the Committee on Trustees.
Robyn Reiss
Board Member Robyn Reiss is the Founder and CEO of Reiss Strategies, a consulting firm offering a full suite of advisory and marketing services to the real estate industry. Robyn previously served as the Executive Director of Observer Media and in 2009 co-founded the launch of Commercial Observer, the premier commercial real estate media platform. During her 18-year tenure with the company, Robyn played a pivotal role in growing Commercial Observer from a start-up to the multi-million-dollar, national organization it is today. Robyn lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband Elie, and their four children. She holds her BS from the School of Management at Binghamton University.
Harry Etra
Board Member Harry Etra is the Managing Director of HXE Partners, a Morrow Sodali company. Harry's experience is in advising public and private companies on their sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies. As a Principal at CamberView Partners, he helped companies prioritize their sustainability disclosures and prepare for engagements with institutional investors. Previously as a Director at CodeGreen Solutions, he advised companies on ESG best practices with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. Harry holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a B.A. in history from Yale University. Harry and his wife Dani live in Prospect Heights and are proud Luria parents.
Ora Weinberg has over a decade of professional experience in strategic planning, specializing in philanthropic advising, grants management and organizational development. Ora has worked as a consultant to early and mid-stage non-profits helping them lift the standard of excellence surrounding their organizational practices. She has guided organizations through a variety of internal planning processes, including program development, fundraising strategy, evaluation design, staff management, and board development. She is dedicated to helping her clients
build confidence in their mission and become more pragmatic in how they operate their organizations as well as how they impact the community around them. Ora has also held volunteer leadership roles in a number of organizations whose primary focus is creating inclusive school environments for children of all backgrounds, abilities and disabilities. Ora is the co-chair of the Capital Campaign Committee.
